Welcome to our list of names of people who are challenging Microsoft to sue them right now to prove that it has valid patent claims against Free Open Source Software. Remember, it would be helpful if you could add your email address and your distro, and the purpose for which you are using GNU/Linux. If you are just using some other Free Open Source Software, such as OpenOffice.org or Audacity running on Windows, please let us know that, too. Thanks!

One of the points of this list is that the world is bigger than the US patent laws that Microsoft is misusing to slow innovation in desktop software. If we get lots of people outside the US signing up, that will encourage people inside the US to sign up, and maybe it will also encourage more people who are on the fence about using Free Open Source Software. If people are unsure about whether Microsoft is right about Free Open Source Software violating its patents, maybe they will not use Free Open Source Software. That is obviously what Microsoft is trying to do.

1503 to 1596

1503. Rove Monteux - Sao Paulo Brazil. use nothing but open source software both at home and work. Nao uso nada que nao seja de codigo aberto tanto em casa como no trabalho.
1504. Steve Antonopoulos Greece <using ubuntu feisty fawn 7.04 + beryl> no more windows
1505. Eduardo G. Coutinho - Sao Paulo/SP/Brazil. Using Linux since 1995 and Mac OS X since 2006. In a free world out of walls and fences, who needs Gates and Windows? Sue me first Microsoft, please
1506. Sean M. Heuer - USA. Just started using Ubuntu Linux but a long-time open-source user. Give us your best shot! Open-source pwns you up and down!

1511. Jayson Hay - Adelaide - Australia - Ubuntu 6.10 (yeah yeah, time to upgrade lol). Also M$, you need to sue my 1 year old son as he has used my linux laptop.
1512. Fred Joyce, Nelson, New Zealand. Ubuntu 7.04 FEISTY (Best OS ever). Crouger92@yahoo.co.uk. Because windoze sucks arse, when it STOPPED WORKING i HAD to switch to Ubuntu. Best thing I ever did. Come and get me!
1513. Marco Tommolini - ITALY - Utilizzo Linux Ubuntu Dapper Drake e sono soddisfatto. Viva il software libero!
1514. Jason D Heynoski - Waterford, PA, USA - Kubuntu, Ubuntu . Heyndog@gmail.com Windows is a waste of time, if you want something that works go with Ubuntu or any of there flavors. Just shut the hell up microsoft.
1515. Bernd Salomon - Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Still using and lovin Linux, currently Debian Etch. Why have i wasted so many years in Windows? Money, money, money... is that all that counts? Sure thing, it's sometimes harder to get things working but it's absolutely worth the price!!!
And that pretty penguin looks much nicer than this stupid flying window thing. Same to the os... make it how you want it, not how MS wants you to. Since Linux I use Perl, shell stuff and so on. There is so much to experience... wahhh I love it!!! :)
My IBM ThinkPad Windows label once said -Designed for MS Windows XP-... but I've got debian up and running and removed the stupid label... how can I??? O_O so you definitely have to SUE -ME- FIRST
1516. E. L. Beason, Kansas City, MO Fedora 5,6,7 Suse 10.2 Xandros, Freespire, Puppy, Ubuntnu, Knoppix and whatever else I come across that stikes my intrest. Did a cost of ownership, to upgrade XP to Vista and buy the new software applications to replace the old software applications, because it won't run on Vista would cost me over $20,000. It cost me $39.99 to go to Fedora 7. The trade off is I couldn't play MICROSOFT GAMES, but then again, I don't play games so mwhaa ha ha ha ha
1517. Jordan Reese, USA, spartan.ii.117@gmail.com, (X)Ubuntu 7.04 Fiesty Fawn, Windows would not boot on my computer, and had continuous driver errors on my mom's, now proud administrator of 5 Ubuntu boxes.
1518. Alan Rossington, UK. Slack, Ubuntu, Fedora, plus centos is on its way for my rhct cert study. pick me! pick me!
1519. Alexander Kevin Ververis, Freiburg, Germany, for using Gentoo and Ubuntu because it's flexible, fast, cool, (insert positive adjective here), and just plain nice. Please sue me first as I have enlightend my friends and family!
1520. Edmanuel Torres, Düsseldorf, Germany, 10 dual Opteron processors workstations and a cluster with 320 processor powered with SUSE, and I also have an old Laptop running Knoppix, I love it :)
1521. Klaus Kruse, Jena, Germany, using the "evil" linux distribution Ubuntu since one and a half year. First on my PC, now on my (new) laptop too - mostly open source software. Windows? Is that one kind of toilet paper? ;)
1522. William Soo, Singapore, not only do I have the intention to purchase a bloody PS3 and install Fedora Core on it. I will go further to anoint "Wine" as my middleman to run Windows Applications on it. Tell me, what are you going to do about that? :p
1523. cheesyone, Billings, MT, USA I'm not sure if I qualify as the most "evil" person you might sue, but I think I must come pretty close. You see, I have used "Windows" many times to download what I have recently learned are "illegal" Linux distros, which of course have then been installed on various machines from ALL my own computers to those belonging to several friends. I started with a purchased copy of Red Hat 5.2, but couldn't get everything working properly - so had to use your OS to download various flavors of the evil OS. Eventually, I subscribed to Linux Format and now get TONS of evil software every month. Although I no longer "must" use your OS to download "evil" content, I still do from time to time - just for spite. I still have one piece of software that requires me to run Windows, so you could really hurt me by suing me first, as I'd not only have to trash all my other OSs, but since you "think" you own my 'puters, you could keep me from running that single app! Besides, your lawyers could probably use the $10 or so you'd be able to get from me to pay for gas to the airport when they take that much needed vacation after the big lawsuit is over! Oops! Almost forgot! I'm running Mepis, Mandriva, Mint Linux, Kubuntu, Elive, & Xandros. (at present)
1524. Michael Ajitsingh- IT Professional- Killeen, TX and Sacramento, CA. I happily use "Ubuntu 7.04 'Fiesty Fawn'" because Linux is far superior to Microsoft Windows from both a technical and asthetic perspective. I'm an IT Professional and I've been using open source software for years now, before I started using "Ubuntu" I was using "Mandriva" but I've found that "Ubuntu" suits my particular needs better. I whole-heartedly refuse to use Microsoft's products and services because Microsoft creates and implements inferior products and services for the mass market; and charges a ridiculous amount in purchasing and licensing fees for those inferior products and services. If Brad Smith and Microsoft wants to sue me then they can reach me at: mikeisgoodforyou@gmail.com
1525. Glenn Condrey - Appliance Salesman/Sears Holdings Gulfport, Ms. I use Debian Etch, and Ubuntu 6.10 because I have had it up to here withstupid crap like DRM, paying arm and a leg for a new operating system license every other year, crappy o/s security...and the verve that is Micro$atan. Linux comes with a learning curve, but it is getting more and more user friendly all the time...eventually the world won't need Windows...better save your money Bill.
1526. Gianpiero Baglioni - ITALY - SuSE e Debian, dal 1999. Grazie a tutti i pinguini!
1527. Mike S. - Connecticut, United States - I use CentOS Linux because it doesn't suck like Vista does. I also use a Mac because it is stable and doesn't suck. Both of these OSs are stable, reliable, and usable. Windows is not. Windows Sucks. Period.
1528. Kristopher Moore - Vancouver, Wa - I am an aspiring business owner and up until the time of vista's release was considering using windows <-(not capitalized because microsoft hasn't told me I have to or they sue me yet)- for my multiple servers. Upon vista's release I took no time in reconsidering, and even thought very seriously about short selling every dime I had in microsoft's stock, however considering microsoft recently and eagerly took every dime I owned for licenses for my custom built pc's I don't have any money. To Bill G. - Why don't you consider offering your piece of **** so called OS for a cheaper price and do some freakin' homework about what we really need instead of trying to copy someone else's OS, By the way if we are on the topic of copyright infringement then doesn't trying to copy OS X qualify? So microsoft... IM HERE AND I'M FRIGGIN WAITIN FOR YA, IF YOU WANT TO SUE ME I'M MORE THAN HAPPY TO GIVE YOU MY DEBT THAT YOU HAVE CREATED!!!
1529. Barry Kukkuk - South Africa. My Point Of Sale company uses Open Source and Linux for a lot of things, including the brilliant Firebird Database Server.
1530. Tim Stalford - Oregon I use openSuSE 10.2, openSuSE 10.3Alpha, Puppydog Linux, DSL, Xubuntu 7.54. I have been using Linux since 1998. I use Open office, and any other OSS I can find to use on my box at work. I am in the process of setting up antix on an old compaq laptop.
1531. Felix Gerd Schneider - Kaiserslautern, Germany. For downloading OpenSuse 10.2 using a Windows OS and for burning the images on CD using the integrated burn-prog from Windows. The reason for choosing linux? Read all the above plus I got annoyed of this message popping up when Windows (finally..) booted: "You may be a victim of software counterfeiting". Linux rules! (And I hereby thank Alexander Ververis for opening my eyes and showing me the world of linux)
1532. Jacob Lee Colborn - USA - Loismustdie129@yahoo.com - Using Mepis 6.5, have used Fedora Core 6, Ubuntu Fiesty, and can use Fedora 7 at any time. Go ahead Microsoft, try to sue me, you have no right to tell us what we can and cannot do.
1533. Milos Sramek - Slovakia - sramek.milos@gmail.com, using Ubuntu, Kubuntu & EduBuntu 7.04, Debian, Gentoo & others on several computers. I've never used Windows regularly. No problem, that's it.
1534. Walter R.P. Scott - Canada/UK - wscott@ubc.chem.ca - using redhat, fedora and ubuntu for fun, teaching and research. Please, Mr Ballmer, sue me...!
1535. ingo eismann, stuttgart, germany. started out with windoze(TM) and m$-sw on all my networks (~500 cli, ~25 srv). the better i know m$-sw the worse it sucks (it's bad and degrades by just using it and then: "sorry, the support-cycle was just ended by us."); so everything was or will be upgraded to linux and Free Sw (mainly GENTOO because of its great flexibility). the computers i'm responsible for need reliable, unrestricted sw and not buggy-a**, market-manipulative throat-shovedowns! so after you've absolutely proven that u can't code for s**t just bring it on and try to sue me first, bills, ballms and whatever!! the GNU will not turn around because of some nasty flies on its ass!!
1536. Lee McCafferty, Dublin, Ireland. Please sue me Mr. Ballmer (oh yeah you cant LOL!) because I am a proud user of Gnewsense and Debian GNU-Linux. I will never use Windows by choice, because as I know, you know and everyone who knows anything about Operating Systems knows that Windows is the worst piece of crud in the marketplace. I won't even start on your illegal business practices and all around questionable ethics. But please Mr. Ballmer sue me first, maybe you could even run around the stage in a rage shouting "I love software patents!!" at one of your MicroZombie conferences. Just try not to stub your toe this time ROTFL!!!!
1537. Colin Ely, Massachusetts/California, USA. Started using Linux out of curiosity, then switched completely when "Windows Genuine Advantage" told me my legitimately owned copy of Windows XP was counterfeit. The reason? the preinstalled version was so buggy I had to reinstall it, and therefore it wasn't recognized as "genuine". After 3 days of phone and e-mail Indian tech support, I gave up on dealing with software designed to verify product keys and lock out features. now my main two operating systems are Fedora and Debian.
1538. Lars M. Johansson, Vadstena, Sweden <lars m johansson at gmail com>. Software Consultant and heavy Linux user since the mid 90:ies. Started with RedHat, went on to Debian, then Gentoo, SUSE and, finally, came full circle with Fedora. Nowadays using Fedora 7 on both my work and home laptops and my home appliance/server for anything a "normal" person would use a computer. Work sometimes forces me to use a Windows client, but so far, I have managed to stay clear from writing Windows code, even for money. Oh, and my whife, parents and in-laws run Linux too...
1539. Mimouna Abeddar, city Dordrecht in The Netherlands.(mimouna abeddar at gmail com) Well, I want to try something else than windows. Because I was sick with virusses and other junk related to windows and I was curious about linux. My first distro is Kubuntu and I'm still using it for six months or more so. I'm glad that I took the step to try Linux
1540. Stefan Murawski, Kiel in Germany. <steveway1 at googlemail dot com> Some years ago I tried out Suse Linux out of curiosity but I soon switched to Ubuntu, now Xubuntu. I abandoned Windows since then and I'm happy with that. Come on Microsoft, sue me. I'll try everything to help the Open-source-movement.
1541. Alan Williamson MCSE, ID #983223, New Jersey, USA - Anyone that knows the difference between a bit and a byte has more than likely tried one flavor or another of Linux. It is also just as likely that they have chosen to use their favorite Linux distro for their personal use. In the past three years, Synaptic has not once hosed any of my systems. Windows Updates has managed to fubar my XP box time and time again. I could tap out a short story on this five year old Toshiba Satellite (running Ubuntu Feisty with Kernel version 2.6.22.1) illuminating the benefits of Open Source software but I won't. My flavors of Linux are Ubuntu Feisty, Xandros Pro 4.1 and Fedora Core. Xandros being the least fav out of the three but still a very stable OS.
1542. Scott Markley, Pennsylvania - Have been dual booting windows with Mandriva, Debian, or Ubuntu GNU/Linux for 3 years. Soon I hope to completely escape and never use a Windows machine again.
1543. Ian Halter, Texas - Have been using Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty) with some Windows XP usage. Hope to one day switch completely.
1544. Yilmaz Kaya- Canada, I like Linux and it will take over one day:)
1545. Rick Chioffi, Virginia, firedemonsic(@t)gmail(d.o.t.)com, Gentoo 2007.0 - I recently made the switch to Gentoo linux after windows XP was beginning to crash and lag at abnormal levels. After taking 5 days to compile everything, it was the smartest computing decision I have ever made. Linux and the Open Source community offers people speed, stability and an educational experience (To think until last night I didn't even know wtf Joliet was!) at a price that won't cost a second mortgage on your house. Windows offers me a guaranteed bluescreen at least once every 3 days (My PC has not crashed a single time in the two months I've had Gentoo booted), free spyware and more porno ads than I can shake a meat stick at! If you want to actually learn a thing or two about PC's and the languages they use, make the switch. Compiling everything yourself and knowing every little switch of your system is half the fun. I truly am getting sick of M$ with their patent bullsh!t. They are attempting to start a monopoly with this new vista era, and anyone who can't see that is truly naive. DRM will allow them to control the movie companies, DirectX10 will allow them to control the game companies and their "usage statistics" that vista captures and dispatches to M$ will allow them to control you. Who needs DirectX10 with OpenGL 3.0 on the horizon. All we have to do now is make game developers aware that there are far more Linux savvy users than people think. I am damn sure that far more work goes into the constantly maintained Linux distros which are for the most part, free of charge than has gone into Vista which will cost you one arm, leg and your firstborn. People should not have to shell out $600+ for an OS, and they should not have to shell out $100 for an Xbox Wifi adapter when M$ could have designed the console to use standard wireless adapters. If this, "alleged" lawsuit is not the clearest sign yet that M$ is attempting to gain total control of the digital market and start their monopoly, then I don't know what is. THEY ARE TRYING TO SCARE EVERYONE BACK TO THEIR SHOTTY OPERATING SYSTEM AND NEUTRALIZE ANY AND ALL COMPETITION! NOT IN THIS HOUSE! COME AND GET ME YOU PHUCKS! Also DO NOT forget to sue my roommate also since he used my PC just the other night to check his MySpace and surprise, no spyware or viruses leaked in!
1546. Thomas Grainger, UK, The Windows logo is a picture of a wobbly window, however, the only OS that offers me wobbly windows with no set-up is Sabayon Linux: with Compiz-fusion. This is clearly product misrepresentation on Microsoft's part!
1547. M.Burak Alkan, TR, i've used many linux distros including slackware, pardus, SuSE and a slackware logo appers on my laptop instead of window one.I dont need another windows thing for living :)
1548. Jo Burke, Los Angeles, CA. I use Debian Linux exclusively on 3 laptops and one desktop computer. I became frustrated at the ability of Windows to freeze up, and with the memory footprint it requires. I know lawyers, so Microsoft is welcome to sue me. They can reach me by email at jburke61@gmail.com. I'll gladly give them my legal name and address for service of process. This is so ridiculous, Linux and open source violating Microsoft's patents. So SUE ME. I'll never go back to Windows. I recommend either Mac or Linux to everyone I meet. Windows is too expensive to maintain, and too loose with administrator privileges. Never again. Linux only for me and mine.
1549. R. P. Burke, Los Angeles, CA. I got sick of Mr. Gates and his dysfunction in my home, school and office. My last straw happened when I was taking an on-line statistics math class in college and forced to pull all nighters to get my math work done. Windows kept knocking me off line and giving me problems, while math is enough of a problem! And yes my grade was affected! The college is loaded with barely functional windows boxes in the computer labs and libraries. And the city library's have barely functional windows boxes. So when my damn windows box insisted on money for its security dysfunctions I was more than ready for Debian Linux. I did not care how long the switch over took. I only went without my laptop for two days. I am happy with my debian linux laptop now. My brother has two debian Linux boxes himself and he let me know the windows sales rep's are the ones trained to make windows look as if it works as well of course. The rest of my family and friends are investing in Linux and firing windows.
1550. Davy H. ,belgium. come and f with me windows, linux rocks you, you cant even gat thepiratebay, or any other torrentsite that has links to windows torrents (i personaly dont use any of the windows torrents cues windows already fucks up enough of my computer, if only i didnt payed that mutch for it it would be trown of already), how the heck do you even think about taking down linux and any other open source, linux rocks you all over, just like torrents do, i love to see your message to thepiratebay, too vad they only display one, probably cues your messages are all close to the same, just likes your program, the next one (mostly) just looks a bit better then the last one
1551. Kris Street Yulee,Florida You cant touch me Microshaft. ive converted 35 m$ users and am trying to convert my school I use kubuntu feisty and never had a problem, but when i used windows alwayz had to reinstall
1552. Andoni M. , spain. I use mandriva 2007 spring whith open office, i use KDE and i have a copy of XP :).
1553. Vladimir Mayakov, Ukraine, Shame.balamut@gmail.com, Ubuntu 7.04 Fiesty Fawn, Escape from Vista - it`s SUXXX!!!
1554. Danie Pretorius, South Africa.Kubuntu 7.04 Feisty, Using Linux cause...I CHOOSE TO!!
1555. Renan de Lara, Piracicaba, SP, Brasil: Uso Fedora 7.
1556. Cole Southford Hood, Anchorage, Alaska. Ubuntu. BTW: Dinosaurs will die.
1557. T.R.Daams, Netherlands. Debian Etch. :) Running it on my home server and on my laptop. Brilliant OS! I use it because i choose to use it. I have 1 legal copy of Windows XP, and solely use it because its a required EVIL for playing games. Windows is an expensive piece of crap. Asking so much money for a buggy, crappy, unstable, systemresource guzzling OS is a crime! Thank all those people who have built Linux to where it is today! Linux will continue to grow. Noone can stop a worldwide development team! Not even Microsoft.
1558. Gustavo S. Gonçalves, Divinâpolis, Brasil. Using Slackware 12 after continuous Crashes on Microsoft Windows XP And Vista. So, I simple crashed my cds of Windows, made a copy of Slackware and now i'm happy!
1559. Peter Lyon, Rugby, Warwickshire, UK I use Ubuntu 7.04, with all the WMP codecs installed. I also use open office and fiddle with my windows registry files. Sue Me! I dare you!
1560. Nigel Marett, Brighton, UK I'm on Ubuntu on the laptop, fedora / CentOS on some production machines, blah blah.
1561. Les Bannon, Queensbury, New York Ubuntu on a Dell laptop and Knopmyth on my video server
1562. Al Thedill, Oz. u know who i am... reason #1: have i set up a temporary email a/c. on hotmail for this exercise? ;D ( gh75tgbff at hotmail.com ) reason #2: have i cried every time i installed pirated m$window$ on people's pc.s? reason #3: did i laugh at u, bill, way back when i was programming in 6502 assembly & u had half as many pimples as me (showing my age now)? (being on the other side of the planet doesn't stifle humour) reason #4: have i complained to others whenever i've had to use m$- dos / w3.1/95b/98/98SE/ME/2k/NT/xp/Vista? reason #5: are the rumours true? - just think about all those times i've been rumoured to use that naughty naughty naughty free/open software that u say violates your patents, like window$-runnable freeware, or Debian, Medialinux, Knoppix, Mandrake, FedoraCore, dyne:bolic, Ubuntu, Xandros, Lycoris, Lindows, SimplyMepis, Kubuntu, XfceMint (& continue to use them)... oh the humanity... reason #6: whoops, did i hurt your cathedral ideals by editing this web-page to say these comments (it's a wiki), then editing it again to clean-up other people's html-like mistakes (it _is_ a wiki...), & constantly giving my time & skills & copies of software (oh no!) to other people for free 'cause i like sharing? (poor m$, they're reeling now...) reason #7: is it true about all those times i supposedly gave (& fully intend to still give) people good advice to *not* use m$ products? the answers to these questions lie in the hearts of us faithful, ladies & gentlemen, & there they will stay, because, as we know, m$ doesn't have the right to know, 'cause they're naughty children who don't know how to share. but come on m$, if u really want to sue any-one at least for using free &/or open-source software that u r obviously just envious of, let it be me first, i am not afraid, if u bring a real law-suit against us i will happily give u my entire personal details - i know u don't have the guts. Sue me first, Microsoft.
1563. Marcos Henrique Esteves Barbosa, Novo Hamburgo/RS - Brasil Microsoft, does not have more what to make of what to create absurd lies? Maybe fix bugs?
1564. William Leslie, Vic - made the switch to Free Software earlier this year. I use Debian Etch, FreeBSD and Debian GNU (Hurd). I can't understand how I got by with your gypsy quality software for so long, but I don't have to worry about that now. Well, until you sue me.
1565. Daniel Corbe <mailto:dcorbe@gmail.com>- User of Mac OS X. Guess what, that's based on free software too! Probably infringes on some Microsoft patents. Come on, take me down and Apple, Inc. with me!! Oh and by the way if you think the response to these patent claims are negative now, just wait until you start suing mac fanatics
1566. Carey Flichel - Running Fedora 7. Canadian currently living in US. I would love to see MS attempt this just to make the taunts and threats end once for all.
1567. Sebastian Van Sande, Belgium - Running Ubuntu Feisty Fawn. I like GNU/Linux because it's free, doesn't contain virusses or DRM and I am able contribute changes.
1568. Milosz Galazka, Poland, milosz.galazka@gmail.com - just another FreeBSD and Ubuntu user
1569. Brian Girten, Lawrence, KS, US. RedHat 7.1,7.2,7.3,8.0,9.0 RHEL ES2,ES3,ES4,ES5 CentOS 5 Fedora 2,4,5,6,7 Mandrake/Mandriva Puppy 2.14,2.15,2.17,3 [X]Ubuntu 6.10,7.04 Knoppix 3.1-5.1.1 LFS 6.3 PC-BSD (Da Vinci) OpenOffice and many others. I'd love to see an end to this. It's been going on for far too long.
1570. Stuart Bullock, Centuryprime Ltd, United Kingdom. Running Ubuntu Feisty Fawn and associated member of the Free Software Foundation. The company's address can be found through Companies House, United Kingdom.
1571. Biswajit Bardalai, Toronto, Canada. Linux user since 1996. Main home OS: Ubuntu dual-booting with Debian Etch; have tried Vector Linux, Linspire, Freespire, DSL, FreeBSD, DesktopBSD, PC-BSD. Work: main desktop Ubuntu Feisty with KVM; database server1: Breezy, db server2: Etch, ldap: CentOS. Use DeVeDe to convert home videos into DVDs; Tvtime for TV; OpenOffice for documents; F-Spot for managing photos and uploading to Flickr; Soundconverter; etc;etc;etc. My 8-year old plays internet games, listens to music, watches videos on YoutTube on his PIII with Ubuntu Feisty. Installed Ubuntu on a couple of friends' machines - one refuses to go back to windows. Tried Vista RC - it didn't detect the network card that Ubuntu was happily running on, neither did it detect the TV card. Linux is getting better by the day.
1572. Paul Clyne - Australia - Kubuntu - Sometimes it's not all about the $. A world where people _help_ each other write better software, not screw them - Bring it on.
1573. Paul Philippov - Svetlogorsk, Russia - I have different distros of GNU/Linux and FreeBSD installed on my computers - Gentoo, Kubuntu, ArchLinux, PC-BSD - Some Genuine (sic!) copies of M$ Windows are collecting dust somewhere on book shelves. Who needs Windows nowadays?! C'mon Ballmer, sue me =)
1574. Christopher Soyars - Kennesaw, Georgia, USA. I run Ubuntu on my laptop, and I'll be upgrading to 7.10 when it comes out. I've also been known to run RedHat. My parent's computer runs xp, but they use open office and firefox rather than your shitty bloated programs. I keep portable firefox on my usb drive to run at school instead of IE. I haven't had a virus yet on my laptop, and I don't use antivirus programs. I run spybot on there just in case, but it's never found anything. My parents don't have any viruses because we use avast and/or avg (the free versions) for antivirus, and spybot for anti-spyware. So while you're at it, sue them! Come and get me, Microsoft!
1575. Sethu Rathinam - Iowa, USA. My primary operating system is Mac OS X. I also use Ubuntu GNU/Linux and several FOSS applications. If Microsoft has patents that FOSS violates, let's see them. MS should focus on writing better software. "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
1576. Patrick Boyne - Pennsylvania, USA. Running RedHat on an old machine, Gentoo on my main machine, Ubuntu on my laptop, DD-WRT on my firewall/router, and Fedora Core on my PVR. I run Firefox (which MS 'innovated' from) on everything, and Open Office on everything and haven't had a virus problem EVER on my systems. Mr. Ballmer, show the FOSS community the patents, or STFU with the FUD.
1577. Walter Byrd - Denver, Colorado, USA. Use Deian at home, with several F/OSS applications.
1578. Jeff Blevins - Saint Louis, MO 63125 | Running Ubuntu, Debian and Gentoo. Installed Gentoo on ~15 machines at a university. Also running several other packages you may find offensive: Firefox, Koffice, Open Office, Gnumeric. gtfo, fgts.
1579. Dustin Jones - Rochester, NY | Running Ubuntu on my desktop, Gentoo on my home sover, with lots and lots of little goodies that you probably won't like because they offend your marketshare: Firefox, OpenOffice, Gnumetric, compiz-fusion. Also running OpenWRT on my router. Sue me, Microsoft. That'll make great headlines; "RIT student sued for using collaboratively-produced computer program."

1584. Bin Tian - Edison, NJ | Grown up using DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95/98/2000/XP. I loved DOS. Started to use Slackware Linux in 1997, mainly because my 486 PC isn't fast enough for Windows 95. I have been tinkering with the idea of switching to Linux completely for a long while. Finally I took the jump in 2004 having enough with Windows XP's constant crash. I experimented with Slackware, Fedora, but settled with Gentoo. Now I run Linux on ALL my desktops and laptops. By the way, the whole CS department at Rutgers University runs Linux, and every single CS major college student at Rutgers learns programming on Linux. Sue us all!
1585. Joseph Lane - North Platte, NE | I use Kubuntu Gutsy on my laptop because Vista blew arse. I use Knoppmyth on the PVR I just made (10-16-07) and the only thing I use XP for is writing music on the new desktop I bought. It also came with Vista. I figured that since I paid for the Vista license when I bought the comp then I could get rid of it and use my old copy of XP on the new one. The old one became the PVR and I'm not using one copy of XP on 2 comps. Oh, I also use a number of free and/or open-source softwares on my desktop such as openoffice and avg. Bill Gates runs like a girl. I hope he sues me for a million times a million dollars. ezekielmorgano@hotmail.com
1586. Adam Shephard - Rochester, IN, US - Started using Linux in 2002, wiped Windows off my partition at home in 2003. Finally converted my wife this year after infroming her that she would be on her own if she chose to use Vista. Turns out she loves Linux. We have six computers at home and not one of them runs any software from Microsoft.
1587. Tanidis Spartakos-Dimitris - Greece - Just a student trying out new things... - After a few years on WinDos I decided to try out a Linux distribution to see what is all this fuss about. So I downloaded and installed Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn). The rest is history ( :P i always wanted to say that ) After all these years (not so many actually) i finnaly enjoy my pc. No crashes, no need to pay all this money for software (which will probably crash anyway), daily updates and security. And i also have the benefit of enjoying all the Beryl eyecandie. AND ALL THESE FOR FREE!!!! (free is an unknown word to microsoft) So sue me first. I'm here and waiting...
1588. Jesse Aiton - San Francisco, CA, US - I'm an MCSE that switched to Linux after taking all those darn tests. Now I run Mepis on my home workstations, Debian and CentOS on multiple servers at work, and have converted friends and family to Linux from M$. Yup, sue me.
1589. Mateusz Burger - Campogalliano, MO, IT - Now all my workstations are stable with GNU/Linux!! I'm using gentoo and bsd, and the opensource is the best community in the world. I'm waiting you billy!! I'm waiting you here with Tony Montana!! PS: Have you a problem with your M$ product? This is the solution: format C:\ && install GNU/Linux!!

1590. Renan G. - Brazil - I have been a Linux user since 2006, and in no way have I been dissatisfied with Linux. I currently am using Fedora 8 at home, so, Micro$oft, sue me, for you shall never thake the maarvel that is Linux from this world!
1591. Marcelo de Paula Mello - Sao Paulo / Brazil - I've been using Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy) for for general desktop activities and I'm glad of find a new world full of possibilities and few problems. Hey Bill, you have probably realized you're not dealing with ignorant people. Whether you wish I will be here waiting to be sued.
1592. Donald S. - Orlando, FL, US - I just switched a month ago to Linux after many frustrating years of hassle. I had a regiment of formating the hard drive every 6 months or so. It was easier to work off a clean install than to try and fix all the spyware and other software installed without my permission. Also, Vista is a joke! Tried that for six months. Now I'm having fun going through the many distributions of Linux. I find the tactics Microsoft employs is akin to the mafia! Pay us for protection from... US! No thank you. I love Microsoft's video game console, but sadly not their OS's. The ONLY reason I have dual boot with Windows is for my wife's Sims 2 game. Which no one seems to be able to get to work in Linux.
1593. Tony Smith - UK. Oh no! Now you can sue me and my teenage daughters! Well I'd prefer jail to using that overrated bloated crapware OS I used for years before finding Linux 'just works'
1594. Cong Ma -- Beijing, P. R. CHINA. Hey M$ I bought an Asus laptop and removed any single bit of your crapware from the memory as well as the file system. I run Fedora distro and my life can't go on with the GNU tools. I program with open-source tools like Python and gcc and I laugh at the very mentioning of C#, .NET, or your Visual Whatever, w/ or w/o the "++". I admin my Apache and Squid services in my college dormitory and my friends are very happy with the free, open-source services I provide them with. I write my school reports using LaTeX and free OpenOffice.org products. Maybe I'm wrong but in my humble opinion, all your software, which are more than just stupid, user-hostile, malfunctioning, defective and malicious, patented or not, simply suck. Sue me if you want to. A warm notice to Mr. Ballmer: Throwing chairs at me is a violation of the law in China. (A post-edit: oh yes, the sticker on my Asus machine has been torn away, and I even used a red-hot needle to remove the 'Windoze' label on one of the keys.)
1595. Zoran Trifunovic - Serbia! I use Fedora 8 and Gentoo on my home computers, and Red Hat on the work. Also i have Windows XP Pro Pirate edition at home, and I will delete this shit of OS because I need more free space on HDD. Please sue me.
1596. George Machitidze - Georgia (caucasus). Bought a mac, linux and some mac os, no more windows. Georgians use GNU! All schools here are linux-equipped. 1597. Hiisi - Russia. Using linux since Feb 2008 for home, work, school.
